After a long wait, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has finally announced the revised date of NDA 1 2020 Exam which was postponed earlier due to the nationwide lockdown in the country because of the novel coronavirus outbreak. The UPSC today revised the dates for all the exams and published a new exam calendar. As per the latest UPSC calendar, the NDA 1 2020 exam will be conducted on 06 Sep 2020. However, there's a twist.
UPSC has announced that it will conduct both NDA 1 2020 Exam and NDA 2 2020 Exam on 06 September 2020. That means, a common examination for both NDA& NA Exam (I) and NDA&NA Exam (II), 2020 will be held on 06.09.2020. This is the first time that UPSC is conducting both the exams together.
Normally, UPSC conducts the NDA entrance examination twice every year in the months of April and November as NDA – I and NDA – II to admit eligible candidates at an Officer rank in the Indian Army, Navy, and Indian Air Force. Candidates who want to join the Indian Armed Forces, this is the best path to go through to join the Indian Armed Forces at the prestigious Officer rank.
One must have to go through three stages of evaluation to join NDA (National Defence Academy):
- Written Exam
- SSB (Service Selection Board) Interview
- Medical Examination

Eligibility Criteria
Here we are providing the eligibility criteria for NDA exam:
Nationality:
- Candidates must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan or
- An Indian origin person who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and East African Countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India before the 1st January 1962.
Age Limits:
- Martial Status & Gender: Only unmarried male candidates can apply for this exam.
- NDA-II Age Limit: Candidates should have born between 2nd Jan 2001 to 1st July 2004.
Qualification Criteria:
- For Army Wing: candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam organized by the State Education Board or a University.
- For Air Force and Naval of NDA and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy: students should have cleared the 12th or equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics subjects.
Physical Standards:
- Students should be medically fit as per the norms set by the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination.
- Candidates have to go through the medical examination organized by the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB.
